Japan Week Spokane 1000 Cranes Project

According to Japanese lore, folding 1,000 Origami Cranes is truly a labor of love. In Japan, the tradition of folding 1,000 cranes is done when someone has a wish, be it for peace, health or luck. As Part of Japan Week, attendees to various events will be invited to fold cranes by the Japan Week Spokane Committee.

BODHI DAY CELEBRATION

SUNDAY – DECEMBER 7th  -  10:30 AM SERVICE

Bodhi Day is the day Buddhists celebrate the Buddha’s Enlightenment. According to tradition, Buddha (Siddhartha) had forsaken years of extreme ascetic practices and he resolved to sit under a Pipul tree and simply meditate until he found the root of all suffering, and how to liberate one's self from it.
