7/17 Guest Reverend Kodo Umezu at 10:30 am

Mark your calendars! This is a service you should not miss!

Reverend Kodo Hiromichi Umezu

Director Center for Buddhist Education, Berkeley, California

Will give the Dharma Talk at the 10:30 am Service on July 17th

We are fortunate to have a very special guest minister visiting us this month, Reverend Kodo Umezu. He is the director of the Center for Buddhist Education in Berkeley California.  He creates and oversees all of the Buddhist education programs at the Jodo Shinshu Center. This includes everything from training sessions for Minister’s Assistants to special seminars for members. Some of his seminar titles are, “Crossing over to Buddhism” (for those not born into Buddhism) and “B.Y.O.B, Bring your own Buddhism, Sharing Our Pathways”. We hope to bring these seminars to Spokane in the future.

He also had the honor of representing us and addressing the United Nations this last May for the 2600th Vesak Celebration (We celebrate this in April as Hanamatsuri). Knowledge, warmth and enthusiasm is what really defines Rev. Umezu. You will be inspired by his talk and we will give him the unique opportunity to meet the Spokane Sangha. Following the service he will join us downstairs for a question and answer Dharma exchange.

Service followed by a ** Dharma Exchange with Rev. Umezu ** Come with your questions about Buddhism.
