Japan Week 2011

Join the Spokane Buddhist Temple for Japan Week 2011!

Running from Saturday April 16th - Sunday April 24th, Japan Week is a city-wide celebration of Japanese culture, heritage, and tradition. An opening ceremony kicks off the week at Riverpark Square, followed by a variety of free and paid events throughout the week.

The temple will be holding our Spring Food Bazaar on Sunday April 17th from 11 am - 2 pm in the temple's basement. We will be selling teriyaki chicken, our famous senbei crackers, sushi, japanese baked goods, and more!

Thank you for Japan Disaster Relief Donations!

After our Seventh Day Memorial Service for those lost in the Japan earthquake and tsunami, the Spokane Buddhist temple collected and gave a donation totaling $2,085.00 to the BCA Social Welfare Fund. 100% of this donation will be combined with donations from all of the other temples in the US, and sent to Japan to help with disaster relief. Thank you to everyone who donated!

Help Us Make Senbei

Come learn how to make the traditional Japanese Rice Crackers on Saturday April 2nd. They are crunchy, salty and sweet, and are fun to make. This is also a great opportunity to get to know temple sangha members better. Email spokanebuddhisttemple@gmail.com or sign up at the temple.

These tasty snacks will be available for sale at our Spring Food Bazaar on April 17th
