Reverend Tatsuya Aoki, Bishop, Jodo Shinshu Buddhist Temples of Canada was born and raised in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. His education includes a Bachelor Degree in Religious Studies at the University of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada in 1998, the Central Buddhist Academy in Kyoto in 2001, and a Master’s Degree in Buddhism from Ryukoku University in 2003.

He received Tokudo Ordination in 1991, Kyoshi Certification in 2002 (Certificate of Resident Minister), Kaikyoshi Certification in 2003 (Certificate of Overseas Propagation Minister). And Fukyoshi Certification in 2013 (Certificate of Preacher).

He has been the resident minister at the Vancouver Buddhist Temple and Fraser Valley Buddhist Temples since 2003 and Bishop of the Jodo Shinshu Buddhist Temples of Canada since 2013.
