Start your New Year celebrations early with this Buddhist cultural observance. All are welcome. 4:00-6:15PM MochiFest We’ll be selling freshly made Traditional Mochi, Dessert Mochi, and Inari Sushi. We will also be introducing a few special side dishes, including Onigiri with Mixed Rice and Wakame Seaweed Salad. When you come for MochiFest, please take a look through our collection of Japanese items for sale as part of our Joya-E New Year’s Eve Celebration. 6:30PMJoya-E New Year’s Eve Service Everyone who attends will have the opportunity to be a part of ringing the large Konsho (喚鐘) or “Calling Bell” 108 times to symbolically “Ring out” the 108 ways we get caught in stress, worry, frustration, and habits that cause us suffering, and “Ring in” our aspiration to overcome attachment, greed and anger in the coming year. The end of the year is also a time to reflect, with gratitude, for the infinite causes and conditions that have allowed us to live another year. Visitors, Families & Kids are ALWAYS welcome! |
